Not sure how to title this

We have had a conversation with our Ugandan boys which I never thought would happen.  Eddie's mom (not the older 3's mom) has changed her mind with the adoption and wants him to stay in Uganda at the orphanage.  Through our prayers, lawyer, and input from others who we trust as being in the family of Christ we are continuing on with our first adoption of the older three boys.  For fear of saying to much about the whole story, we don't have any other options.  God has a plan which will be incredible.  We have met great opposition, but as stated below I'm sure we are on His path and He will prevail through all of this.  Below is a post from a Pastor we had in Hawaii.

S.O.A.P.
March 31:  Judges 9-10; Psalm 49; 1Corinthians 16
Opposition
Scripture:  1Corinthians 16:8  But I will stay on at Ephesus until Pentecost,
9  because a great door for effective work has opened to me, and there are many who oppose me.

Observation:  Opposition is not a sign that one should quit.  Opposition may be a sign that God is at work and the enemy does not like it!
Application:   When I am doing what God has called me to do, I should not be surprised if I find opposition.  Opposition is not a reason to quit.  Opposition gives God opportunity to do something that only He can do.  And when He does what only He can do, I get the blessing and He gets the glory!   I can rejoice when I see opposition.  It can be a sign to me that God is preparing to do something special.

Prayer:   Lord, I set my heart not to get discouraged when facing opposition.  I believe you will work through the opposition for my good and for your glory!  Amen.

Just an update

We continue to have struggles with a lawyer taking our case.  This has been a long battle for us, it is so hard to have the feeling of standing still when you want your kids home.  As we know however, God is never standing still.  God is preparing us, our boys, the lawyers, our boys' relatives in Uganda, the judges, and everyone else who is or is going to be involved in our case.  It just helps to write it down every now and then as a reminder.
This week on Thursday in Uganda the lawyers have a plan to meet with their relatives.  This was supposed to happen last week, but it did not because of a sickness to someone.  Please join us in prayer.  It feels at this point to just have a confirmed lawyer to represent our family is a huge step.
Praise God for his never standing still.

Power of Prayer

We have gone from no lawyers to a choice between several, including the original one we were hoping for.  Thank you to everyone, thank you for your prayers.  We still have such a long road, but this is a big step in the right direction.  God is so good.  The power of prayer is limited by us.

Prayer

We got an e-mail from the Ugandan attorney we wanted to use, she said she was going to review our files with another attorney as a team and have a decision on Wednesday!!  We are asking for prayer in their decision.  We ask God to open their hearts.  Please pray.  It has felt like we have been not making any progress since we were matched.  It has been a hard time not knowing what our boys are doing or thinking.  This shows us however even if we don't see progress, God is always working.  Not sure what else to say....Pray, fast, pray.

Mountains out of mole hills, or mole hills out of mountains??

Heres the deal.  We didn't get the best news form the lawyer we were hoping to use.  Sounds like Uganda is starting to not give guardianship to orphans with family still alive.  She still did not say directly they won't take the case, but started with unfortunately and stated she would be reluctant to because of the potential of getting the hopes up of the children and families.  Even if you succeed in court, you might not get the visas from the embassy.  Needless to say this will be a night of little sleep.  We are asking for prayer through this mountain.  Thank you to everyone for your support.  We will focus on....

Psalm 117 (1) Praise the Lord, all you nations; extol him, all you peoples.  (2) For great is his love toward us, and the faithfulness of the Lord endures forever.  Praise the Lord.

God prevails, God wins, God is in control, we Praise our God.  GOD IS GOOD!!
